Plant origin & background

The arnica plant is native to the regions from the Pyrenees and Alps to the Balkans, and from southern Scandinavia to the Baltic states. With its stem reaching up to 60 cm in height and its bright yellow flowers, it is both visually appealing and valuable from a cultivation standpoint, but difficult to grow.

Manufacturing process

The extract, of pharmacopoeial quality, is obtained from the flowers and roots of the arnica plant, with particular emphasis on the lipid components of the flowers.
