What is lutein and what are its properties?
Lutein is a yellow xanthophyll pigment from the group of carotenoids. It is found in many products, mainly herbal. Marigold flowers are particularly rich in lutein, which is why they are used as a popular ingredient in food supplements. In the human body, most of the lutein accumulates in the macula lutea of the eye.
The recommended daily dose of Lutein 10 mg Swanson ® is only 1 softgel capsule. A pack of 60 will provide two months of daily supplementation.
