- Test results are available in just 10 minutes, and the test is suitable for people who have symptoms that suggest liver problems, such as jaundice, dark urine, light stools, loss of appetite, fatigue, general weakness or an enlarged abdomen.
Why is it important to diagnose liver diseases?
The liver plays a key role in metabolism, eliminating toxins, producing proteins and storing energy. Liver disease can occur from a variety of causes, such as viral infections (eg, hepatitis), excessive alcohol consumption, side effects of medications, or metabolic disorders. Early diagnosis of liver problems can prevent their development and complications.
How does the test work?
TEST4BODY Liver is based on the detection of the liver enzymes ALT (alanine aminotransferase) and AST (aspartate aminotransferase) in the blood. Elevated levels of these enzymes may indicate liver damage or disease. The test uses a plastic cartridge with detection zones for each of the enzymes and a control zone to verify the correct operation of the test. The presence of a red line means an increased level of enzymes.
