Lecithin is classified as a phospholipid and is one of the basic structural components of the cell membranes of all living organisms. It occurs in high concentrations in important tissues such as the brain, liver, heart, muscles or nerve fibers. Soybean lecithin is a natural source of choline, inositol and linoleic acid, which helps maintain healthy blood cholesterol levels (when you take 10g of linoleic acid per day). Lecithin can be produced by the body itself, but it should also be obtained from the diet.
