Antimicrobial wound dressing with high-dose, continuous silver release

Acticoat Flex 3 is an antimicrobial wound dressing based on a patented silver application process. Acticoat Flex 3 releases silver quickly and in high doses, forming a barrier against bacterial contamination that lasts up to three days. It is effective against pathogenic microorganisms, thus reducing the risk of infection. Acticoat Flex 3 therefore supports rapid wound healing. Acticoat Flex 3 adapts to the patient's movements and complex wound conditions, resulting in a high level of wearing comfort. At the same time, its low-adherent surface minimizes pain during dressing changes.

Acticoat Flex 3 is an extremely conformable, single-layer dressing suitable even for difficult wounds. The flexible material allows for complete contact with the wound surface. The dressing adapts to the patient's movements, providing a high level of comfort. The long-lasting release of high-dose silver creates an antimicrobial barrier. This reduces the risk of bacterial colonization of the wound and thus prevents infection. The antimicrobial barrier remains effective for up to three days, reducing the need for dressing changes. The dressing minimizes the risk of sticking to the wound, resulting in atraumatic and virtually painless dressing changes for the patient. Acticoat Flex 3 can be used as a wound contact layer in combination with negative pressure wound therapy for up to three days.

Areas of application:
Acticoat Flex 3 is indicated as an antimicrobial protective dressing for covering wounds that penetrate some or all layers of the skin, such as burns, implant sites, surgical sites, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, and diabetic ulcers. Acticoat Flex 3 can be applied to infected wounds. If the product is applied to infected wounds, the infection should be inspected and treated according to current clinical protocols. Acticoat Flex 3 can be used as a wound contact layer in conjunction with negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) for up to 3 days.
