Description
The Carci Reagent test is a single-use in vitro diagnostic test that detects the presence of monohydroxyphenol metabolites (tyrosine) and determines their approximate concentration in urine . The test is intended for adults over 18 years of age who do not have specialized medical training and can be performed independently at home. It supports the diagnosis of metabolic abnormalities and supports the early detection of cancer. The product can be used as an early warning of the disease. Please note that the test result is only indicative and should always be consulted with a physician.
The test is easy to use and provides rapid results – results can be obtained within 3 to 5 minutes. It has a high sensitivity of 94.7% in detecting malignant tumors.
How does the Carci Reagent test work?
The Carci Reagent test is based on a chemical chromogenic method and an improved Millon's reagent method, which detects elevated levels of tyrosine and its metabolites in urine. The test is performed by adding 3 ml of morning urine (midstream) to the reagent vial. The chemical reaction between the reagent and tyrosine (monohydroxyphenol) results in a potential color change in the reagent. The intensity of the resulting color corresponds to the tyrosine level in the urine – the higher the concentration, the darker the color. Interpretation of the result involves comparing the sample color with the provided 8-level color scale.
Based on the obtained color, it is possible to determine the approximate concentration of tyrosine in the range of 0–2000 mg/l, which may indicate potential metabolic disorders at the cellular level.
