HEMP (Cannabis sativa)

Cultivated especially to obtain textile fibers for the manufacture of clothing, rope and paper, hemp is a plant with nutritional values ​​not to be neglected, with positive effects on our health, although some tend to associate hemp with the euphoric effects of cannabis.

Hemp is part of the Cannabaceae family, whose leaves and flowers contain a chemical substance known as THC (tetra-hydro-cannabin), which is considered a drug.

This annual herbaceous plant can reach a height of 2-3 meters, has long leaves with jagged edges and greenish-yellow flowers, which blooms in July-August, and the fruits are round and smooth gray-brown capsules, the core of which is rich in fatty acids and nutrients. The fruits are called seeds because of their small size and are eaten shelled.

Hemp seeds are rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9, amino acids such as cysteine, methionine, tryptophan, etc., vitamins A, C, E, minerals including calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, sulfur, etc., they are a natural source of fibers and proteins, with a nourishing effect and a very pleasant taste.
