Hericium (Hedgehog Coral) is one of the vital edible fungi with stalked spores native to Asia, it is also abundant in North America. Hericium can rarely be found in our country. The mushroom gets its name from the unique shape of the fruiting body, which is spherical and branched and can be up to 30 cm in diameter. The effect of Hericia on the production of NFG (nerve growth factor) is currently being investigated.

Like other vital mushrooms, Hericium is also rich in polysaccharides - beta glucans, minerals, trace elements, diterpenoids - hericenones and erinacins are specific to it. Other important components of Hericia are palmitic acid, the sugar alcohol threitol and D-arabinitol or provitamin D2. The concentration of polysaccharides in the extract is also important. Through long-term testing, it was found that 30% is optimal for therapeutic purposes. Lower concentrations (10%) are less effective, higher concentrations (40%) are always at the expense of other active substances and the effect of a particular mushroom is changed.

Dosage:

• 1 - 3 g daily with an interval of at least half an hour after the meal, mix in approx. 1 dcl of water and drink (1 grated teaspoon = 2 g of powder)
• We recommend taking it 5 days a week and skipping 2 days
• Take on an empty stomach (min. 30 minutes before a meal or 60 minutes after a meal)
