FIWA komp gauze compresses, non-sterile

FIWA komp non-sterile gauze compresses are made of 17-thread gauze according to DIN EN 14079 and are 100% cotton. The folded edges prevent fraying and ensure the compresses retain their shape even during use. They are particularly suitable for general wound care in everyday clinical practice, in outpatient clinics, and on wards. Available in various sizes, they can be used flexibly for both minor injuries and larger wounds.

Applications and advantages

Gauze compresses are primarily used for the initial treatment of contaminated, infected, and exuding wounds. They can be used as wound dressings, to absorb wound exudate or blood, and as swabs during minor surgical procedures. Thanks to their soft cotton quality, they lie comfortably against the skin and can be easily combined with bandages or plasters. These compresses are intended for external use only and do not contain a radiopaque thread (without a radiopaque thread).

Instructions for use

The dressing is selected according to the wound size and applied so that the wound is completely covered. It is then secured with a suitable bandage or adhesive plaster, taking care not to impede blood flow. Before contact with open wounds, the dressing must be sterilized using a validated procedure, e.g., as part of in-house sterile processing. The dressings are suitable for both short-term initial care and repeated dressing changes during the course of treatment.

Warning notices

The product must not be used if the packaging is damaged. The gauze compresses are for single use only and must not be reused. Use is no longer permitted after the expiry date printed on the packaging. Store the product in a dry place and protect it from direct sunlight to prevent material deterioration.
