Basic principles of healthy digestion: what helps keep your stomach healthy
Description Refalgin
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.co.uk team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
Refalgin is a mechanical medical device indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux, specially designed to reduce symptoms such as heartburn, retrosternal burning (heartburn during pregnancy), dysphonia (hoarseness), cough, acid regurgitation and inflammation of the nasopharynx.
What are the indications for Refalgin?
Refalgin is based on a compound called alginate, which is made from seaweed and mechanically stops gastric reflux. When alginate comes into contact with fatty acids in the stomach, it forms a gel that acts as an anti-reflux barrier and prevents acid from returning to the oesophagus.
It can be used during long-term treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as primary prophylaxis of gastropathy caused by these drugs.
How is Refalgin administered?
Wash your hands before using the medical device!
Adults
Tablets
Take at least two hours before or two hours after taking other medicines or other oral products to avoid interference (in the absorption process); 1-2 tablets after meals with water.
The duration of administration depends on the evolution of symptoms and, if necessary, it can be administered for long periods. If symptoms do not improve, consult your doctor.

What forms does Refalgin come in?
Refalgin is available in the form of fast-dissolving film-coated tablets for adults and a special formula for children in the form of a paediatric syrup.
How long should Refalgin be taken?

Is Refalgin safe to take during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
You should consult your doctor before taking Refalgin.
Can Refalgin interact with other medicines or alcohol?
Certain components of this product may interact with the activity of other medicines or other oral products, interfering with the absorption process. It is therefore recommended that you consult your doctor before using Refalgin with other medicines.
