In cosmetics, it is often used to make face masks, exfoliating products and treatments for the face and hair. In medicine, clay is mainly used in detoxification and skin healing treatments. Clay has a cleansing, purifying and detoxifying effect on the skin. It reduces excess sebum and can be beneficial for treating acne and exfoliation. Clay is also used for internal use – only certain types of clay and only as directed by a doctor. Clay treatments may be recommended for digestive problems, kidney problems, metabolic disorders, cardiovascular problems, rheumatic pain, etc.

It is important to consider your skin type and individual needs when choosing to use clay in your skincare routine. Clay capsules are taken in doses of 1-3 capsules per day, depending on the purpose and your doctor's instructions.

How to use clay in cosmetics: Clay is usually used in the form of a clay face mask. Mix the clay powder with water or other ingredients until a paste is obtained, which is then applied evenly to the skin. Apply the mask to the face using a brush, avoiding the eye and mouth area. Leave the mask on for about 10-20 minutes or until it dries. During drying, you will feel a tightening sensation on the skin. Finally, rinse the mask off the skin with warm water and use gentle movements to remove the clay. After removing the mask, it is recommended to apply a moisturising lotion or cream.

How long should clay products be used: Clay masks can be used 1-2 times a week, depending on the needs of the skin and the type of mask. In the case of clay for internal use, the duration of treatment varies. Follow your doctor's recommendations. A 3-week treatment per month for 6 months is usually recommended.

Clay products are not recommended if you have allergies or sensitivity to the minerals in clay. Also, some types of clay are not recommended for dry or very sensitive skin.

Some clay products may interact with other cosmetic ingredients. If you use products that have a drying effect, such as products containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, together with clay masks, you may experience excessive drying of the skin.
