DIH
Description DIH
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.co.uk team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
DIH is a supplement based on micronized diosmin, a bioflavonoid with venotonic and vasoprotective properties, commonly used for the management of symptoms associated with chronic venous insufficiency and for the symptomatic treatment of hemorrhoids.
Forms of release
DIH is available as film-coated tablets containing micronized diosmin. The tablet delivery form is ideal for oral administration, ensuring accurate dosing and efficient absorption due to the micronization process of diosmin, which improves the bioavailability of the active ingredient.
DIH can be found in the following concentrations:
- DIH 500 mg - each tablet contains 500 mg of diosmin
- DIH Max Comfort 1000 mg - each tablet contains 1000 mg of diosmin, providing a more concentrated dose to facilitate a simplified dosing regimen.
Indications for use
DIH is indicated for chronic venous insufficiency in the lower limbs, manifested by:
- Pain and night cramps in your legs;
- Feeling of heaviness in the lower limbs;
- Varicose or dilated veins in the legs;
- Spider veins (dilation of very small venous vessels);
- Edema (swelling of the legs).
DIH is also recommended for the symptomatic treatment of hemorrhoids, where diosmin helps reduce the inflammation and discomfort associated with the condition.
Dosage regimen
This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist.
DIH 500 mg - The usual dose is 2 tablets per day with a meal, i.e. 1 tablet each in the morning and evening (corresponding to a daily dose of 1000 mg diosmin, in 2 divided doses of 500 mg)
DIH 1000 mg - The usual dose is 1 film-coated tablet a day with a meal.
Dosage regimen may vary depending on the severity of symptoms and doctor's recommendations. If the symptoms do not go away or worsen despite taking the medicine, a doctor should be consulted.
Contraindications
DIH is contraindicated in people who are hypersensitive to diosmin or any of the excipients.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid taking diosmin without medical advice, as studies on the safety of diosmin in these cases are limited.
Features of use
Higher doses may be recommended only in cases of exacerbation of hemorrhoidal symptoms. In this case, 1 film-coated tablet of DIH Max Comfort may be taken 3 times a day for 4 days, and 1 film-coated tablet twice a day, morning and evening, for the following 3 days.
Do not use a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
Side-effects
DIH is generally well tolerated, but some side effects may occur in some people.
- Gastrointestinal upset: nausea, indigestion, bloating, bloating, diarrhea or abdominal pain
- Allergic reactions: in rare cases, skin reactions such as rash or itching may occur
- Dizziness, headaches
If symptoms become severe or persistent, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
Interactions with other medicines and foods
No known major interactions with other medicines or foods have been reported.
However, it is advisable to consult your doctor before combining DIH with other circulation supplements or anticoagulants, as there may be a cumulative effect that would require dosage adjustment.
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose are not known. If you take significantly more than the recommended dose, seek medical advice immediately.
Storage conditions
DIH should be stored at room temperature, away from excessive moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of the reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
