Grintuss is a product indicated for the treatment of productive or dry cough, with expectorant and anti-inflammatory action. Grintuss protects the respiratory tract and maintains the health of the airways.
Forms of release
Grintuss is available in the following variants:
- Grintuss Adult tablets
- Grintuss Adult Syrup
- Grintuss Paediatric Syrup
Grintuss contains active ingredients extracted from plants: freeze-dried extract of plantain leaves, freeze-dried extract of Grindelia tips, freeze-dried extract of Helichrysum tips, chicory root inulin, peppermint and eucalyptus essential oil, freeze-dried honey and cane sugar.
Indications for use
Grintuss is recommended for coughs – it soothes the cough and protects the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract. It is useful for both irritating or dry coughs and coughs with expectoration, both in the acute phase and in chronic or persistent coughs.
Grintuss tablets or syrup relieve irritation of the respiratory tract mucosa caused by infectious agents or irritants such as smoke or dust from the external environment. It has mucoregulatory and expectorant action (moisturises mucus and promotes its elimination).
Dosage and method of administration
Grintuss syrup for adults is administered 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 2-4 times a day. Grintuss lozenges are administered 1 tablet 3 times a day.
Grintuss is available in syrup form for children. For children over 1 year of age, Grintuss is administered 1 teaspoon 2-4 times a day, and for children over 6 years of age, 1 teaspoon 2-4 times a day.
Contraindications
Grintuss is contraindicated in people who are allergic to any of the active ingredients or components of this medicine. Caution is advised when administering to people with diabetes, as the product contains sugar.
Interactions with other medicines and food
No interactions with other medicines or food are known.
Side
No adverse reactions have been reported during treatment with Grintuss. However, if any adverse effects occur, stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor.
Overdose
The product is generally safe when used in the recommended doses. Take as recommended and avoid excessive doses.
Storage
Store the product in a dry, cool place at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.
