Cingal ^® – ingredients and action

One ml of ^Cingal® solution contains 22 mg of cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) and 4.5 mg of triamcinolone hexacetonide (TH). The hyaluronic acid used in the preparation is produced by bacterial fermentation and cross-linked using a patented chemical cross-linking agent. Importantly, Cingal ^® is biocompatible and pyrogenic. There is no interaction (physical or chemical) between the cross-linked hyaluronic acid and triamcinolone hexacetonide because the micronized particles of triamcinolone hexacetonide are suspended in the viscoelastic hyaluronic acid gel and remain in the product as a separate solid phase.

• Hyaluronic acid (HA) is an organic chemical compound. It is inherently biocompatible and its degradation pathway is consistent with normal physiological processes. In human skin, it is the main component of the extracellular matrix. It is also found in high concentrations in synovial fluid, responsible for its viscoelastic properties. In joints affected by degenerative diseases, the synovial fluid contains a lower concentration of hyaluronic acid and the molecular weight of hyaluronic acid is lower than in healthy joints. Products containing viscosity-enhancing sodium hyaluronate have been shown to be well tolerated by joints affected by degenerative diseases and to help relieve pain and improve joint function through lubricating properties and providing mechanical support.

^Cingal® 22mg/ml was inserted into a 4ml glass syringe, which is used for a single intra-articular injection.
