Description

Effipro is a veterinary medicinal product in the form of a spot-on solution intended for the control of flea (Ctenocephalides spp.) and tick (Dermacentor reticulatus) infestations in medium-sized dogs weighing 10 to 20 kg. The active ingredient is fipronil. It can also be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD), following a prior diagnosis by a veterinarian.

Each pipette (1.34 ml) contains 134 mg of fipronil, 0.268 mg of butylhydroxyanisole E 320, 0.134 mg of butylhydroxytoluene E 321.

Product purpose

The product is intended for medium-sized dogs (weighing 10 to 20 kg) to combat flea and tick infestations.

Product characteristics

The product provides effective protection against new infestations of adult fleas for up to 8 weeks. It also demonstrates effective acaricidal activity against ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus) for up to 4 weeks. Once killed, ticks typically fall off the animal.

Product use

Remove the pipette from the packaging. Holding it vertically, break off the tip. Part the fur on the animal's back until the skin is visible. Place the pipette tip on the skin and gently squeeze several times to completely empty the contents. Apply the product to one or two different spots along the back. Use one 1.34 ml pipette per dog weighing 10 to 20 kg. The minimum interval between applications is 4 weeks.

Notes and precautions

Do not use on puppies under 2 months of age and/or weighing less than 2 kg. Do not use on sick or convalescing animals, rabbits, or cats. Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. Avoid contact of the product with the animal's eyes. Do not apply to wounds or damaged skin. Avoid bathing or immersing the animal in water for 2 days after application. Treated animals should not be touched until their fur is dry. The product may cause irritation to mucous membranes and eyes in humans. Wash hands after use.

Store below 30°C, in a dry place, in the original packaging. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not dispose of this product into sewers or watercourses.
