What is the best way to use Ligasano green and orange preventively?
Ligasano green and orange have cushioning properties similar to those of elastic foams, without the often problematic heat insulation properties. Due to the special properties of Ligasano green and orange, areas of the body that would otherwise experience heat buildup and, consequently, moisture or dampness due to contact with other objects (e.g., lying or sitting surfaces, backrests, positioning cushions, mattresses, etc.) are ventilated. Larger amounts of liquid can drain downwards by gravity, and moisture (e.g., perspiration) can evaporate. This effectively prevents skin maceration. When using Ligasano green in this way, direct skin contact is avoided because the rough surface of the material is often perceived as unpleasant and irritating, and to prevent skin injuries that could result from friction. Suitable intermediate layers between the skin and Ligasano green include stockings, clothing, bed sheets, etc., and especially a 0.5 to 1 cm thick layer of Ligasano white. It is crucial that the intermediate layer is also breathable. To achieve good pressure relief through pressure distribution, Ligasano green can be cut to size with scissors. There are no particular risks associated with using Ligasano green or orange for pressure relief and hygiene without skin contact, provided that general nursing guidelines and our specific instructions are followed.
