The STÜLPA roll (2.5 cm x 15 m) from Acti Medi is a seamless knitted tubular bandage with high transverse elasticity, making it particularly suitable for fingers and other narrow body parts. It serves as a reliable base for all types of fixation bandages, immobilizing bandages (e.g., Desault bandages), and extension bandages. Its closed, yet breathable surface provides secure and stable protection for wounds and sensitive skin areas – even under mechanical stress.

Applications and advantages

The tubular bandage can be used as an under- or over-bandage for zinc oxide or plaster casts and is also suitable as skin protection under compression bandages. In its padded form, it can also be used for backpack bandages and for covering splints and cotton padding. Thanks to its wrinkle-free fit and high absorbency, the bandage ensures comfortable wear. The roll can be cut at any point without creating runs, allowing for flexible adaptation to different body regions.

Application

Cut a piece of tubular bandage from the roll that corresponds to the desired body part. Pull the bandage over the finger or limb to be bandaged without any additional tools, ensuring it fits evenly and without wrinkles. Depending on the desired stability or padding, the bandage can be applied once or in multiple layers. It serves as a base, cover, or protective intermediate layer, for example, under compression bandages, zinc oxide or plaster casts, as well as over splints and cotton padding.

Instructions for handling and preparation

The dressing is sterilizable (steam A 134 °C) and therefore suitable for situations requiring a sterile environment. Ensure the tubular dressing is cut to size to prevent it from cutting into the skin or slipping. Thanks to its closed surface, the dressing retains its shape and does not loosen, even under movement and stress. The dressing is available both on rolls and as a pre-made dressing.

Warning notices

Do not apply the bandage too tightly to avoid restricting blood flow. If you experience pressure sores, pain, numbness, or skin discoloration, check the bandage and reapply it if necessary. Use the tubular bandage only on intact or properly treated skin, and maintain the recommended sterilization temperature if sterilization is required.
