Description UTI Free
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.co.uk team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
UTI Free is a complex dietary supplement specially designed to support lower urinary tract health. With an innovative formula developed in Meditrina laboratories, this product offers a combination of active ingredients with proven effects in reducing the frequency of recurrent urinary tract infections, acidifying urine, and maintaining an environment hostile to bacterial growth.
With a pleasant biscuit flavor, gluten-free and lactose-free, UTI Free is notable for its high compliance among users, including those with dietary restrictions such as diabetic patients.
Forms of release
UTI Free is available in the form of sachets of soluble powder, containing the following composition per sachet:
- L-methionine – 1.5 g
- L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C) – 1 g
- D-mannose – 1.5 g
- Calcium citrate – 15 mEq
- Sweetener: sucralose
Indications for use
UTI Free is indicated as an adjunct in the management of lower urinary tract infections (UTIs), especially recurrent ones. Due to its composition, the product has the following effects:
- Promotes the elimination of uropathogenic bacteria by inhibiting their adhesion to the urothelial epithelium (through D-mannose);
- Acidifies urine, preventing the proliferation of bacteria (through L-methionine and vitamin C);
- Supports normal urinary function, helping to maintain a biological environment unfavorable to the formation of bacterial biofilm;
- Can be used as support in the post-infectious period or in a prophylactic context.
Dosage
The dosage of this product is one sachet in the morning and one in the evening for 7 days. The evening dose is particularly important because nitrite levels and urine acidity reach their highest levels during sleep.
For long-term use, it is recommended to take one sachet of UTI Free every evening, dissolved in a glass of water, milk, or fruit juice, with or without food.
The duration of administration may vary depending on individual needs and the recommendation of a doctor or pharmacist, with the possibility of extending the treatment in the long term in cases of recurrent infections.
Contraindications
The use of UTI Free is contraindicated in the following situations:
- hypersensitivity to any of the product's components (e.g., L-methionine, ascorbic acid, D-mannose, calcium citrate)
- severe liver or kidney failure
- untreated metabolic acidosis or hypercalcemia
If you suffer from severe chronic diseases, it is advisable to consult your doctor before taking this product.
Special instructions
UTI Free can be taken by adults, including the elderly and patients with diabetes mellitus.
The product is well tolerated and compatible with restrictive diets. It does not contain lactose or gluten, and the sucralose used as a sweetener does not affect blood sugar levels.
It is important to stay well hydrated while using the supplement to facilitate the elimination of bacteria and support the effectiveness of the active ingredients.
Side effects
UTI Free is generally well tolerated. However, in rare cases, the following may occur:
- mild gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, abdominal discomfort, flatulence);
- mild allergic reactions (skin rash, itching) – extremely rare.
If unusual or severe reactions occur, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
Interactions with other drugs and food
L-methionine in UTI Free may influence the metabolism of some drugs by altering the urinary pH, thus affecting the elimination of acidic or basic compounds.
D-mannose does not interact significantly with other drugs, as it is rapidly absorbed and eliminated in the urine.
Overdose
No cases of severe overdose with UTI Free have been reported. However, taking doses much higher than those recommended could lead to excessive urinary hyperacidity, stomach discomfort, or diarrhea (due to vitamin C or sucralose), and risk of kidney stones at very high doses of vitamin C or calcium.
In case of overdose, it is recommended to discontinue administration and institute general symptomatic measures.
Storage conditions
UTI Free should be stored at room temperature (15–25°C), in a place away from moisture and direct light. Keep out of the reach and sight of small children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
