Kelo ^- cote® Silicone Scar Gel, 60 g, is a medical device suitable for use on various types of scars to reduce their visibility and minimize the risk of unsightly keloids or hypertrophic scars. It is suitable for scars following surgery, cesarean section, surgical procedures, burns, and trauma. It is safe for both adults and children. It is suitable for use on the face and body.

Kelo-cote ^® gel is most effective on fresh scars up to 2 years old. There is also evidence that the product may be effective on older scars, over 4 years old. It's best to begin using the gel immediately after the wound has closed or after the stitches have been removed and there are no scabs left.

How does Kelo-cote ^® silicone scar gel work?

Kelo-cote ^® silicone scar gel acts as a self-adhesive, breathable occlusive dressing. Once applied to the skin, it dries quickly, creating a thin, invisible "plaster" that stays on the skin for up to 12 hours, providing a barrier against bacteria and external factors. At the same time, the gel's advanced formula:

• softens, smoothes and flattens the surface of the scar;
• reduces the degree of scar discoloration;
• relieves itching and discomfort;
• affects the normalization of collagen production;
• prevents abnormal scarring.

As a result, Kelo-cote ^® improves the appearance of an existing scar, making it less visible.

Importantly, Kelo-cote ^® gel is very convenient to use – it's easy to apply directly to the skin, is flexible, and doesn't require rinsing – it peels off with the epidermis after 12 hours. It can also be used on the skin around the scar. Unlike traditional plasters, which often peel off and cause skin maceration at the site of application, it adheres perfectly to the scar and doesn't restrict movement. Furthermore, because it's colorless and invisible once dry, it's less noticeable than a plaster and is ideal for use on exposed areas of the body.
