METHIONINE 100 CP - Acidifier and hepatoprotector for lowering (acidification) urinary pH in dogs and cats.

COMPOSITION - One 250 mg tablet contains:

• Methionine 200 mg;
• Excipients (lactose and magnesium stearate) 250 mg.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

• Methionine is an essential amino acid (thioamino acid), which can be used to lower (acidify) urinary pH, as an adjuvant or preventive treatment in urolithiasis in cats and dogs.
• It can also be used as an additional source of methionine to correct deficient dietary rations.

TARGET SPECIES: Dogs and cats

INDICATIONS: In the prophylaxis and control of urinary lithiasis and as a hepatoprotector.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: Do not use in hepatic coma, hyperammonemia, severe hepatitis or encephalopathy.

ADVERSE REACTIONS: Taking the product on an empty stomach may cause gastrointestinal upset.

METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION

The product is administered to dogs and cats orally at a dose of: 1 tablet/5 kg body weight (200 mg sa/5kg body weight), 2 times a day, for 21 days in urinary lithiasis and 10 days as a hepatoprotector, without exceeding the dose of 8 tablets/animal/day, regardless of size.

WARNINGS: The product is administered after meals.
