- BIO ground almonds, also known as "chufa", are small tubers that grow at the root of the Cyperus esculentus plant;
- they have a slightly oval shape and are covered by a brown outer shell;
- although they are called "ground almonds", they are not related to regular almonds, but are part of the grass family and are not nuts;
- botanically, however, they belong to the bitter herb family and have nothing in common with nuts, so ground almonds can be a good alternative for people with nut allergies;
- ground almonds have a distinct, sweet and aromatic taste, reminiscent of almonds and hazelnuts;
- their texture is crispy and pleasant to chew;
- they can be consumed in their natural form, as such, or they can be used in various culinary preparations and desserts.

Add 2-3 tablespoons per day to muesli, yogurt, cheese, sour milk, raw vegetables, salad/fruit salad and juices.
