Vermicin Forte can be found on the market in the following forms:

Vermicin Forte is an antihelminthic medicine used to treat intestinal worm infestations. It is effective against a wide range of intestinal parasites and is indicated in the following situations:

• Pinworm infestation, also known as enterobiasis, is one of the most common parasitic infestations worldwide. Vermicin Forte is effective in treating this condition, eliminating pinworms that are located in the rectal and anal area, causing intense itching.
• Ascariasis is caused by intestinal parasites called Ascaris lumbricoides. These worms can migrate to the respiratory tract, causing respiratory symptoms. Vermicin Forte is effective in treating this condition by eliminating ascariasis from the intestine.
• Infection with whipworms (Trichuris trichiura) can cause digestive symptoms such as abdominal pain and diarrhoea. Vermicin Forte is effective in treating this infection, helping to eliminate whipworms from the intestine.
• Due to its broad spectrum of action, Vermicin Forte can be used to treat mixed infestations with several types of intestinal worms.
• After effective treatment with Vermicin Forte, strict hygiene measures can be considered to prevent re-infestation, such as frequent hand washing, regular changing of bed linen and keeping nails short.

The use of Vermicin Forte is contraindicated in certain situations to avoid possible complications or adverse reactions. Consider the following contraindications before starting treatment:

If you have previously experienced allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to mebendazole or any of the ingredients contained in Vermicin Forte, avoid using this medicine. Signs of hypersensitivity may include skin rashes, itching, swelling or difficulty breathing.

Vermicin Forte is not recommended for children under 2 years of age. Consult your doctor for suitable alternatives in case of parasitic infestations in young children.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should be cautious with the medicines you use. Vermicin Forte should only be used during these periods under strict medical supervision, taking into account the benefits and risks to you and your baby.

If you have severe liver disease, it is important to talk to your doctor before taking Vermicin Forte. It may affect liver metabolism and may require dose adjustments or other precautions.

Patients with severe kidney disease should be closely monitored when using Vermicin Forte. The medicine may require dose adjustments in such cases.

 In cases of severe gastrointestinal conditions, such as peptic ulcer or intestinal inflammation, the use of Vermicin Forte may require special attention and medical supervision.

 Each Vermicin Forte tablet contains 500 mg of mebendazole. Other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K30, sodium lauryl sulphate, talc, magnesium stearate and patent blue V dye.

 Adults and children over 2 years of age: The recommended dose is one tablet (500 mg) taken once. If the infestation persists, consult your doctor for further advice.

 Vermicin Forte is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Consult your doctor before use.

The use of Vermicin Forte may cause rare side effects such as nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, headache or skin rash. If you notice any unusual or severe reactions, stop taking it and consult your doctor.
