Description
Medical device with laxative action, indicated for the symptomatic treatment of constipation.
It promotes peristalsis, helping ensure proper bowel movements, thus countering constipation and preventing fecal impaction. It also facilitates the elimination of intestinal gas, reducing the sensation of bloating and abdominal distension.
Dicopeg is presented in powder form for oral solution.
Macrogol is an inert, high-molecular-weight, water-soluble polymer that binds to the water used for ingestion, retaining it in the stool. It rehydrates and softens the stool, facilitating evacuation. It accelerates intestinal transit by promoting peristalsis. It is not absorbed or metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract and does not cause fluid or electrolyte imbalances when taken with the indicated dose of liquid.
Simethicone is a substance that has the ability to reduce the surface tension of gas bubbles present in the gastrointestinal tract, facilitating their expulsion.

How to use
Children aged 6 months to 12 years (adults/children ≤43 kg)
- from 6-10 kg: 1 sachet per day;
- from 10-15 kg: 1-2 sachets per day;
- from 16-20 kg: 2-3 sachets per day;
- from 21-43 kg: 3-4 sachets per day.
The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow regular evacuation of soft stools.
The maximum dose required does not normally exceed 4 sachets per day.
Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (60 ml per sachet) and take immediately. It is recommended to take the product in the morning if the minimum dose (1 sachet per day) is required. For larger doses, divide the dose between morning and evening.

Adults and children over 12 years of age (>43 kg)
- 2 to 8 sachets per day.
The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow regular evacuation of soft stools.
The maximum dose required does not normally exceed 8 sachets per day.
Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (60 ml per sachet) and take immediately. It is recommended to take the product in the morning if the minimum dose (2 sachets per day) is required. For larger doses, divide the dose between morning and evening.

Warnings
It is recommended that the product be used in pediatric patients after consulting a doctor. Administration to children should be carried out under the direct supervision of an adult.
Consult your doctor before use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package and sachet.
Do not use if package is opened or damaged.
Do not exceed the maximum daily dose.
The product is for single use only: do not use the sachets partially or open them at unknown times, as this method of use could lead to risks of product contamination.
Keep the product or the resulting solution out of the reach of children.
If you do not notice any improvement after 7 days of treatment, we recommend consulting your doctor.
The product may reduce the intestinal residence time and therefore the absorption of oral medications. It is therefore advisable to consult a doctor if taking oral medications at the same time, which should always be administered at least two hours apart.
If you experience any adverse reactions, even if they differ from those listed, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor. Some gastrointestinal disturbances (stomach ache, flatulence, bloating, nausea, and fecal incontinence) may occur. Diarrhea is a secondary effect of taking excessive doses of Dicopeg esse and can be avoided by reducing the dose. Cases of hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash) have been reported rarely following the use of products containing macrogol. If this occurs, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor.
Do not take Dicopeg esse in case of known hypersensitivity to macrogol or other components, intestinal perforation, obstruction or stenosis, paralytic ileus, severe inflammatory diseases of the intestinal tract such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and toxic megacolon.
The use of laxatives is contraindicated in cases of acute or unknown abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, rectal bleeding of unknown origin, and in cases of severe dehydration.

Conservation
Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and heat sources.
The expiry date indicated refers to the product stored correctly in its intact packaging.
Shelf life in intact packaging: 24 months.
