Hydrocoll Classic is a hydrocolloid wound dressing for the treatment of non- to moderately exuding wounds. It is suitable for skin injuries with damaged epidermis or dermis, such as pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, donor sites after tissue transplants, postoperative wounds, and abrasions. Its special material composition creates a moist wound environment, thus supporting wound management in both acute and chronic wounds.

Application areas

These include, in particular, pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, donor sites after tissue transplantation, postoperative wounds, and skin abrasions. The product is intended for short-term use, with a single dressing remaining on the wound for up to 7 days, and a total application time of up to 28 days.

Instructions for use

Hydrocoll Classic is a single-use product and should only be applied by qualified healthcare professionals. The wound should be prepared according to professional standards before applying the dressing. The dressing is applied so that it completely covers the wound and adheres to the surrounding skin. The dressing is changed as needed, depending on the degree of wound exudate and within the intended application period of up to 7 days.

Special characteristics

The hydrocolloid layer of the dressing absorbs wound exudate while simultaneously allowing it to adhere to the wound and surrounding skin. The polyurethane film is permeable to water vapor and impermeable to water, fluids, and germs, thus protecting the wound from external influences. A release liner facilitates application of the dressing.

Ingredients

Hydrocoll Classic consists of hydrocolloid, polyurethane film, and release liner. The hydrocolloid layer is composed of sodium carboxymethylcellulose (Na-CMC) and hot melt adhesive.
