Antimicrobial, drainage-capable foam dressing for slightly to very heavily exuding, infected wounds and burns

Mepilex Transfer Ag is an antimicrobial, drainage-enabled wound contact layer that wicks exudate into a secondary dressing, such as Mextra. It can be used to treat wounds and burns with low to high exudate levels. Its antimicrobial efficacy reduces the bacterial load in the wound. As demonstrated in in-vitro studies, Mepilex Transfer Ag can inactivate germs (bacteria and fungi) in the wound within 30 minutes for up to 14 days. According to international consensus, antimicrobial efficacy can reduce the bacterial load in infected wounds. It also acts as an antimicrobial barrier in wounds at high risk of infection or reinfection. Mepilex Transfer Ag adheres gently to the wound thanks to Safetac – the original silicone-based contact layer that minimizes pain. This makes dressing changes less painful for your patients.

Application areas of Mepilex Transfer Ag:
Mepilex Transfer Ag is suitable for a variety of low to high exuding and difficult-to-dress leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, malignant wounds, second-degree burns and donor sites where there is a risk of infection.

Application of Mepilex Transfer Ag:

1. Clean the wound and dry the surrounding skin carefully.
2. Applying Mepilex Transfer Ag: Remove the protective film and apply the adhesive side to the wound. Do not stretch the product and apply it smoothly. The dressing must extend 2–5 cm beyond the healthy skin surrounding the wound.
3. Apply secondary dressing: Apply a suitable secondary dressing (e.g., Mextra) that extends beyond the edges of Mepilex Transfer Ag.
4. Secure the bandage: Secure the bandage with a suitable fixation device, e.g. Tubifast.
