LITHOREN® sachets is a dietary supplement, gluten and lactose free, intended for the management of metabolic disorders that predispose to the occurrence of kidney stones (kidney stones).

Benefits:

• After administration, LITHOREN® sachets help dissolve calcium oxalate or uric acid kidney stones and contribute to the faster elimination of fragments remaining after the lithotripsy procedure
• Also, in the long term, LITHOREN® sachets allow the maintenance of an optimal urine pH (normal limits 6.2 – 6.8), necessary to prevent the occurrence of kidney stones in patients frequently prone to this condition.

Active ingredients:

• LITHOREN® sachets contain Potassium Citrate which prevents the supersaturation of urine with calcium oxalate and phosphate (insoluble in water), forming calcium citrate, which is soluble in water. It also induces the dissolution of kidney stones formed from uric acid by alkalinizing the urine
• Magnesium citrate converts calcium oxalate ions (insoluble in water) into magnesium oxalate (soluble in water) and inhibits the growth of calcium phosphate crystals
• LITHOREN® sachets also contain Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6), considered the only available treatment for primary hyperoxaluria as a metabolic disorder that underlies the exacerbated excretion of oxalate in the urine and, respectively, the formation of calcium oxalate stones.

Ingredients:

Potassium citrate. Acidity regulator: citric acid. Magnesium citrate. Flavor: orange. Vitamin B6. Sweetener: sucrose. Anti-caking agent: silicon dioxide. Colouring agent: E110.

How to use:

FOR THE REMOVAL OF SMALL (1-5 MM) STONE STONES OR RENAL MICROLITHIASIS: 2 sachets per day, morning and evening, for 3 months or until their complete elimination.

IN CASE OF LITHOTRITION:

• BEFORE LITHOTRITION: 1 sachet of LITHOREN® in the evening, for 1 month
• AFTER LITHOTRITION: 2 sachets of LITHOREN® per day, morning and evening, for at least 3 months (with urine pH check using indicator strips).

FOR PATIENTS WITH A PREDISPOSITION OR FREQUENT RECURRENCE OF KIDNEY STONES: 1 sachet per day, maintaining urinary pH in the range of 6.2-6.8, for 3 months, 2 courses per year.

How to use:

• The contents of each LITHOREN® sachet are dissolved in 150 ml of water
• The resulting solution is clear, orange in color, with a pleasant orange aroma
• The solution is stable for at least 24 hours when stored in the refrigerator (2-8°C)
• LITHOREN® sachets contain sucralose, a sweetener that allows administration to diabetic patients
• Does not contain sodium chloride.

Warnings:

• The product is a food supplement and cannot replace a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle
• Do not exceed the recommended daily dose
• Keep out of the reach and sight of small children
• Store at temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius, away from heat, sunlight and contact with water
• Potassium citrate is hygroscopic. In case of humidity, lumps may form inside the sachets. This is a natural phenomenon that does not affect the effectiveness of LITHOREN®
• Do not use this product after the expiry date printed on the outer packaging
• Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking any prescription or non-prescription medication
• During treatment with LITHOREN® sachets, some people may experience minor gastrointestinal upset and/or diarrhea. These symptoms can be alleviated by taking the product with meals or by reducing the dose
• The administration of LITHOREN® sachets is not recommended in patients with hyperkalemia. This condition includes chronic heart failure or renal failure, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, acute dehydration (caused by diarrhea or excessive sweating)
• LITHOREN® sachets should not be administered together with potassium-sparing diuretics.
