Pau d'Arco , called the "treasure of the Incas", is the dried bark of the Lapacho tree, which grows in the tropical and humid climates of Central and South America. The plant is found in modern Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil and Guyana, but the Incas, the indigenous inhabitants of these areas, knew and used its health-promoting properties centuries ago.

According to historical sources, South American tribes used Lapacho bark in the form of drinking infusions (so-called Inca tea) in the event of the appearance of various symptoms: from colds, coughs and breathing problems, through problems of the digestive system, to serious diseases such as anemia or malaria.

How does Pau d'Arco work?

The health-promoting properties of Lapacho bark are believed to be mainly due to the naphthoquinones contained in the bark, the most important of which are lapachol and beta-lapachone. Naphthoquinones have antiseptic properties - bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal. In addition, La Pacho bark contains other valuable and biologically active substances, such as alkaloids, flavonoids and catechins (polyphenols), as well as numerous minerals - magnesium, calcium, iron and manganese.

What is the origin of the product?

The powdered bark contained in Aliness Pau d'Arco is obtained from Lapacho trees that grow only in South America, in Brazil - the natural habitat of the plant. The natural origin of the raw material and the lack of excessive technological processing guarantee a complete spectrum of active substances.

Ingredients: powdered inner bark of the lapacho tree (Tabebuia impetiginosa), capsule shell: (binding agent: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose).
