Description

The 2x Diosminex Max set is a medicinal product containing diosmin, which has a protective effect on blood vessels and can be used for the feeling of "heavy legs" and as a supportive treatment for hemorrhoids.

Composition

The active substance is: diosmin ( Diosminum ).

1 tablet contains 1000 mg of micronized diosmin.

Excipients: tablet core : microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate; film-coating : polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide (E 171), macrogol 3350, talc, quinoline yellow lake (E 104), indigo carmine lake (E 132), sunset yellow lake (E 110), black iron oxide (E 172).

Dosage

This is a medicine. For safety, use it according to the package leaflet. Do not exceed the maximum dose. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

• A drug for oral use.
• The medicine is taken with a meal.

The medicine is intended for use in adults.

To treat the symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency: 1 tablet once daily. This medication should be used for several weeks. If there is no improvement after 5 weeks of use, consult a doctor.

Treatment of exacerbation of symptoms associated with hemorrhoids: 3 tablets a day for the first 4 days, then 2 tablets a day for the next 3 days.

Action

Diosminex Max contains diosmin, which increases venous tone and has a protective effect on blood vessels. Diosmin reduces venous stasis and vein dilatation. In the case of small blood vessels (capillaries), it increases their resistance.

Indications

• symptomatic treatment in case of chronic venous insufficiency accompanied by: feeling of heaviness in the legs, leg pain, nocturnal leg cramps,
• symptomatic treatment of severe symptoms of hemorrhoids.

Contraindications

When not to use Diosminex Max:

• if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Rare side effects (affects 1 to 10 people in 10,000):

• diarrhea, indigestion, nausea, vomiting,
• dizziness, headache,
• malaise,
• rash, itching, hives.

In case of mild side effects affecting the stomach and intestines and neurovegetative disorders (e.g. increased anxiety, rapid heartbeat, excessive sweating, anxiety), discontinuation of the drug is not required.

Warnings and precautions

• Use of this medication for exacerbations of hemorrhoids should be short-term and symptomatic. The use of this medication does not preclude the use of other rectal medications.
• In case of impaired venous circulation in the legs, lifestyle changes should be considered: avoiding sun exposure and standing for long periods of time, weight control, and wearing special stockings.
• If the symptoms of impaired venous flow worsen - inflammation of the skin, inflammation of the veins, hardening of the subcutaneous tissue, severe pain, skin ulcers - you should consult a doctor.
• The drug is ineffective in cases of edema caused by heart, kidney or liver disease.
• The medicine contains lactose - in case of known intolerance, consult your doctor before using the medicine.
• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store below 25ºC.

Use of other medications

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking, have recently taken or might take, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Diosminex Max may interact with:

• metronidazole,
• diclofenac.

Taking the medicine with food and drink

Take the medicine with a meal.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Use of the drug in children and adolescents

The medicine is intended for use in adults.
