Description Flamozil
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.co.uk team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
Flamozil is a hydrocolloid gel recommended for the treatment of acute or chronic wounds, whether wet or dry, open or closed. The product is formulated without parabens and is useful for wounds caused by various conditions such as bedsores, diabetic foot, varicose ulcers, skin ulcerations, surgical wounds, superficial burns, cuts, scratches or sunburn.
What are the properties of Flamozil?
Flamozil has multiple benefits in the wound healing process, including:
- creating a moist environment that promotes healing
- applying it to the open wound to close it quickly
- reducing scar formation and encouraging epithelialisation
- rapid pain relief
- recommended by doctors for treating chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, skin ulcers, burns or necrotic wounds, without causing irritation or burning sensations
- eases the process of changing dressings and maintains an optimal level of moisture for wet wounds or moisturises dry wounds and controls the microbial environment of the wound.
How is Flamozil used?
For deep wounds, Flamozil is recommended due to the spray pressure that allows the gel to reach the entire wound cavity.
For closed wounds, clean and disinfect the affected area, then apply Flamozil without touching the wound with the tube. If necessary, a bandage or plaster can be applied.
For open wounds, it is important to clean and disinfect the wound, then gently dab it until dry. Apply a thick layer (0.5-0.75 cm) of Flamozil to the wound without touching the wound with the tube, and then a bandage or plaster can be applied. The gel and bandage/plaster should be reapplied at least once a day. It is important to reduce the application of Flamozil once a scab has formed on the wound.
What ingredients does Flamozil contain?
Flamozil contains colloidal carbomer acid, carnosine, water, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate.
Carbomer acid stabilised with carnosine, a natural basic peptide present in the skin, has a closing effect on closed wounds, such as surgical wounds or cuts. It prevents water evaporation and reduces fluid loss from the epidermis.
Carnosine also acts as an antioxidant and protects the polymer acid. In the case of wet wounds with secretions, carbomer absorbs excess fluid.
Flamozil also has cooling and skin-soothing properties when the wound is covered with a bandage or non-adhesive plaster.
What is Flamozil Kids?
Flamozil Kids is a paraben-free hydrocolloid gel used to treat local wounds, both dry and wet. It is a medical device that helps heal wounds by regulating the wound microenvironment. The product comes with five plasters specially designed for children.
What are the properties of Flamozil Kids?
This product contains a carnosine-stabilised acid carbomer, a basic peptide naturally present in the skin. When applied to dry wounds, such as scratches or surgical wounds, it creates an occlusive effect that prevents water evaporation and reduces fluid loss from the epidermis. Carnosine protects the polymeric acid and acts as an antioxidant, while carbomer absorbs excess fluid from wet and exudative wounds. The product has a cooling and soothing effect on contact with plasters and/or bandages and is non-adhesive.
What ingredients does Flamozil Kids contain?
Colloidal acidic carbomer, carnosine, water, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate.
How is Flamozil Kids used?
This product is recommended for use in children over 2 years of age. In children under 2 years of age, it should only be used on the advice of a doctor.
For closed wounds, it is recommended to clean and disinfect the affected area. Apply Flamozil Kids to the wound without touching the wound directly with the tube, then apply a bandage or plaster if necessary.
For open wounds, clean and disinfect the affected area and gently dab it until dry. Then apply a thick layer of gel (between 0.5-0.75 cm) to the wound, without touching the wound directly with the tube, and apply a bandage or plaster. The gel and/or bandage/plaster should be reapplied at least once a day. You should reduce the application of Flamozil Kids once a scab appears on the wound.
