Movoflex is a veterinary nutritional supplement designed to support joint health and maintain mobility in dogs and cats, regardless of age or activity level. Joint conditions are one of the most common health problems encountered in pets, being associated with both the natural ageing process and factors such as obesity, trauma or genetic predisposition.
Forms of supply
Movoflex is available as chewable tablets (soft chews), tailored to different weight categories and animal species.
The product is available in several variants, for example:
- Movoflex Soft Chews for Small Dogs – Movoflex S: for dogs weighing under 15 kg;
- Movoflex Medium Dogs – Movoflex M: for dogs weighing between 15 and 35 kg;
- Movoflex Large Dogs – Movoflex L: for dogs weighing over 35 kg;
- Movoflex for Cats: a formula tailored to cats, regardless of weight.
Each pack contains 30 chewable tablets, designed for daily administration.
Directions for use
Movoflex for dogs and Movoflex for cats is recommended as a nutritional supplement to support the health of the musculoskeletal system in dogs and cats.
The main indications include:
- maintaining joint mobility and flexibility in adult and elderly animals;
- supporting the health of cartilage and synovial fluid;
- reducing discomfort associated with joint stiffness;
- nutritional support in cases of osteoarthritis or joint degeneration;
- supporting functional recovery following trauma or orthopaedic surgery;
Dosage regimen
Movoflex should be administered once daily, preferably during or immediately after a meal, to facilitate the ingestion and absorption of the active ingredients.
The dosage is determined based on the animal’s body weight and the product’s formulation.
The chewable tablets are formulated to be readily accepted by animals and can be offered directly or mixed with their regular food.
Contraindications
Virbac Movoflex must not be used in animals with known hypersensitivity to any of the product’s components. Furthermore, its administration is not recommended without veterinary advice in animals with severe metabolic disorders or intolerance to marine-derived ingredients.
The use of the product in pregnant animals or those intended for breeding has not been sufficiently studied; therefore, administration should only be carried out on the recommendation of a veterinarian.
Special instructions for use
Movoflex for dogs and Movoflex for cats are intended exclusively for veterinary use. During use, it is important that the product is administered in accordance with the dosage recommendations and under the supervision of a veterinarian, particularly in animals with chronic conditions.
If the animal’s condition worsens or shows no improvement after an appropriate period of administration, it is recommended to discontinue supplementation and seek a clinical assessment by a veterinarian.
Side effects
Movoflex is generally well tolerated by dogs and cats, due to its composition based mainly on natural ingredients.
In rare cases, mild digestive reactions may occur, such as transient gastrointestinal discomfort or minor changes in appetite.
Interactions with other medicines and food
To date, no significant interactions between Movoflex and other veterinary medicines or dietary supplements have been reported.
The product may be used as part of a comprehensive management programme for joint conditions, alongside anti-inflammatory treatments or physiotherapy, as recommended by the vet.
Overdose
In the event of accidental ingestion of a quantity greater than the recommended dose, it is advisable to contact your vet immediately. Although the product’s ingredients are largely of natural origin, overdose may cause digestive upset or other undesirable reactions.
Storage conditions
Movoflex should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and excessive moisture. The product should be kept in its original packaging at temperatures in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
