Ophtaxia® is a balanced electrolyte solution. These electrolytes: potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium, are naturally present in tears.
Potassium has a high concentration because, together with sodium, it plays an essential role in maintaining osmolarity.

The combination of sodium acetate and sodium citrate acts as a buffer.
It regulates and stabilizes the solution at a pH of approximately 7 and an osmolarity of approximately 305 mosm, values ​​similar to those of tears, ensuring good tolerance over time towards the cornea and the tear film, even if these elements are altered.
The absence of preservatives strengthens the safety of use, eliminating any potential cytotoxicity, always possible with these products.
