Hydrocolloid wound dressing

DracoHydro is a sterile, hydrocolloid wound dressing. Hydrocolloid dressings (HCV) promote granulation and autolytic debridement of chronic and acute problem wounds. The hydrocolloid dressing creates an ideal moist wound environment and optimal healing conditions. It is suitable for moderately to slightly exuding, non-infected wounds and securely binds exudate, cellular debris, and germs within the hydrocolloid. DracoHydro absorbs exudate without adhering to the wound, thus enabling painless, atraumatic dressing changes. DracoHydro is waterproof and bacteria-proof. The dressing needs to be changed when the hydrocolloid pad is completely saturated with exudate or when the gel layer expands beyond the wound edges. Depending on the amount of exudate, the dressing can be worn for three to four days.

Areas of application:
Pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome.

Skin surrounding the wound:
Intact.

Wound stages:
Necrosis, fibrin coating.

Wound healing phases:
Exudation phase, granulation phase.

Wearing time:
3 - 4 days.

Material:
Gel-forming polymers (including carboxymethylcellulose) applied to a semi-occlusive polyurethane film.
