octenisept® Active ingredients: Octenidine dihydrochloride, Phenoxyethanol (Ph. Eur.) - Indications: For repeated, short-term antiseptic treatment of mucous membranes and adjacent skin prior to diagnostic and surgical procedures - in the anogenital area of ​​the vagina, vulva, glans penis, also prior to bladder catheterization - in the oral cavity. For short-term adjunctive therapy of fungal infections of the skin between the toes and for adjunctive antiseptic wound treatment. - Warnings and precautions for use: Do not swallow large quantities of octenisept® or allow it to enter the bloodstream, e.g., through accidental injection. Avoid using octenisept® in the eyes. In case of accidental eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Following irrigation of deep wounds with a syringe, persistent edema, erythema, and even tissue necrosis have been reported, some of which required surgical revision. To avoid tissue damage, the preparation must not be injected deep into the tissue. The preparation is intended for superficial use only (application by swab or spray).
