Amniotest self-test for detecting amniotic fluid leaks, 3 tests, Barza

It is an in vitro diagnostic self-test, easy to use at home, that will allow you to detect probable amniotic fluid leaks.
The test pad attaches to the briefs and can be worn for up to 12 hours.
Accuracy >97.06%.

Presentation:
- it is simple to use and interpret, you get the result immediately by examining the indicator strip;
- it can also be used at home and allows continuous monitoring for 12 hours, including intermittent amniotic fluid losses;
- changes color when it comes into contact with liquids that have a pH value greater than or equal to 6.5 units;
- amniotic fluid pH levels are higher than 6.5;
- it is recommended for screening in high-risk or normal pregnancies;
- amniotic fluid leaks increase the risk of infections for both mother and fetus, and their early detection can help: prevent complications or premature birth, identify a possible rupture of membranes, especially after amniocentesis, confirm that your water has broken so you can get to the hospital on time for a safe birth;
- to obtain valid results, do not use the device if: less than 12 hours have passed since the last sexual intercourse or if less than 12 hours have passed since the last vaginal douche.

How to use:
1. Remove the Barza Amniotest test pad from the packaging.
2. Attach the pad to the briefs.
3. Wear it like a regular pad until you feel wet (do not exceed 12 hours). Use the pad when sitting, standing or walking. Do not use the pad when lying down.
4. When you feel a leak, remove the pad and wait 10 minutes, then check for a color change from the yellow background of the pad. Also, when replacing it with a new pad, check for a color change.
5. When you feel wetness and the pad is completely yellow, after 10 minutes it would be a good idea to do another test.

Interpretation of results:
If there is a color change to blue or green (regardless of intensity) on the absorbent, of any size, shape, or location, the leaked fluid is probably amniotic fluid.
The color change may appear blurry and may be more intense along one side of the yellow band's edges. In any of these cases, consult your doctor or go to the hospital without delay.
If the pad has not changed color (remained yellow or turned yellow again after 15 minutes), the vaginal wetness was probably not caused by amniotic fluid. If vaginal discharge continues, apply a new pad and repeat the test, then see your doctor.
