Lactiferon

Lactiferon is a lactoferrin-based dietary supplement. This is a protein extracted from cow's milk. Lactiferon is indicated for the prevention or treatment of iron deficiency anaemia and iron deficiency, especially during pregnancy, but also during breastfeeding, menorrhagia, gastrointestinal bleeding, metrorrhagia, etc., due to its complex composition. It can also be administered as a supplement to support immunity. Lactiferon Plus is recommended for several forms of anaemia. Lactiferon Derma is a supplement indicated for patients with acne, rosacea or skin problems associated with inflammation or hyperseborrhea, as a method of supporting prescribed drug treatments.

Lactiferon is indicated for iron deficiency and iron deficiency anaemia. It has the ability to increase the number of white blood cells, haemoglobin, haematocrit, ferritin and total serum iron. However, the main version of Lactiferon does not contain iron. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect. The Lactiferon Plus version, on the other hand, provides iron supplementation for iron deficiency anaemia. Lactiferon Derma is a complementary treatment for certain skin problems, with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-seborrhoeic effects – Lactiferon Derma acne. It can reduce sebum secretion, reduce inflammation and support the effectiveness of drug treatments used for this purpose.

Lactiferon capsules contain 100 mg of lactoferrin – freeze-dried lactoferrin from cow's milk. In addition to 100 mg of lactoferrin, Lactiferon Plus contains bisglycinate iron (Ferrochel – which restores iron stores), Quatrefolic (a form of folate), vitamin C, beta-carotene, methylcobalamin (which increases iron absorption). Lactiferon Derma contains 100 mg lactoferrin, zinc gluconate, nicotinamide and copper.

Lactiferon comes in the form of gastro-resistant capsules. The daily dose of Lactiferon for adults is 1-2 capsules per day, after meals.

Lactiferon is a supplement recommended even during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with no associated risks. Lactiferon, Lactiferon Derma and Lactiferon Plus may be taken during pregnancy, as recommended by your doctor.

Lactiferon 100 mg with lyophilised lactoferrin is suitable for adults, especially pregnant women, as well as children and newborns – basically anyone experiencing certain iron imbalances. Lactiferon Plus is recommended for people with low iron levels, including children over 6 years of age. Lactiferon Derma should only be administered to children on the advice of a doctor.

Lactiferon is a safe product with no contraindications. However, it is not recommended in cases of lactose intolerance because lactoferrin is a derivative of cow's milk. 

The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor, depending on medical history and test results. It can be administered for several months or for a longer period. Lactiferon Derma is administered for 12 weeks.
