Lady's mantle

Chamomile has astringent, healing, haemostatic, anti-inflammatory, uterine tonic, mild diuretic and stomachic properties.

Among the benefits of this plant are: reducing the risk of bleeding; maintaining hormonal balance in women; combating unpleasant conditions that occur during the menstrual cycle; maintaining pregnancy in pregnant women who are prone to miscarriages; maintaining normal uterine function; normal childbirth; maintaining normal abdominal muscle function after childbirth; normalising the function of the female genital tract during menopause, premenopause and postmenopause; maintaining the health of the vaginal mucosa; reducing the risk of bleeding; reducing discomfort in the haemorrhoidal veins and anal mucosa.

The plant is known for the following actions: antihaemorrhagic, female hormone regulator, uterine muscle tonic, astringent and antidiarrhoeal, astringent and healing, haemostatic, antiseptic.

The plant can be used to treat internal conditions in the form of tincture, infusion and therapeutic wine.

For external use, medicinal vinegar, concentrated infusions, cold maceration and ointment are recommended. 

The tea is prepared from the aerial parts, harvested during the flowering period, and can be administered internally and externally.

Internally:

The powder for sublingual administration is obtained from the plant finely ground with an electric grinder. One level teaspoon can be administered 4 times a day on an empty stomach. The powder should be held under the tongue for 10-15 minutes, then swallowed with water.

The cold macerate is prepared by adding a tablespoon of the plant to 250 ml of water, leaving it for 6-8 hours at room temperature, straining it and drinking it on an empty stomach. You can consume 3 cups of macerate daily, 30 minutes before meals.

The infusion is obtained by adding a tablespoon of the plant to 250 ml of boiling water, leaving it to cool, straining it and drinking it on an empty stomach. Drink 3 cups of infusion per day, 30 minutes before meals. Gargle several times with concentrated cretișoară infusion, which is very effective in treating aphthous stomatitis and gingivitis.

External use:

For vaginal mucosal health, local washes can be made with the macerate or infusion of the plant.

To reduce the risk of bleeding, apply local tampons or compresses with the macerate or infusion of the plant.

The discomfort associated with haemorrhoidal veins and the anal mucosa can be reduced by sitz baths or local washes 3-4 times a day with infusion or macerate.

If administered for long periods, take a 10-day break every 6 weeks.

Cretisa tincture is obtained by mixing two tablespoons of dried cretisa with 100 ml of rye alcohol with an alcohol concentration of 50%.

Leave the mixture to macerate for 10-12 days, filter and store in sterile containers.

Administer 10-15 drops of the tincture diluted in water.

The preparation is valid for 24 months.

The therapeutic wine is made by mixing four tablespoons of dried creeping thyme with 1 litre of dry red wine.

The preparation is placed on the heat and brought to the boil.

Leave to macerate for two weeks, filter and store in sterile bottles.

Medicinal elderberry vinegar is recommended for treating insect bites.

It is obtained by mixing one tablespoon of ground cretișoară with 100 ml of wine vinegar.

Leave the mixture to macerate for 10 days, then filter.

Therapeutic cretișoară oil is recommended for treating bleeding and open wounds.

The oil is obtained by mixing 100 ml of olive oil with 2 tablespoons of well-dried cretișoară.

Place the mixture in a bain-marie for 30 minutes, leave to cool, filter and store in special containers.

The tincture and wine made from the plant should be used with caution by people suffering from viral, metabolic or toxic hepatitis. It should not be administered to people with liver cirrhosis or pregnant women. 

It should also be used with great caution by people who are allergic to the plant or who have hypercoagulable blood.
