The Nova T380 copper intrauterine device is a contraceptive medical device intended for women.

This is a convenient method that lasts for several years and requires no additional treatment after application. Furthermore, it is undetectable even during intercourse.

The insert, also called a coil, has a characteristic T-shape and its core is wrapped in copper wire, which increases its effectiveness.

How it works:

• The gynecologist inserts an IUD into the patient's uterus, where it releases small amounts of copper ions, causing a mild local inflammatory reaction
• Furthermore, they restrict sperm movement, making it more difficult for them to reach the fallopian tubes, which is also impeded by thickened cervical mucus.

How to use:

• Before using the contraceptive coil, a cytological examination is required
• If necessary, other tests should also be performed to rule out infections and sexually transmitted diseases
• The doctor inserts the insert using a special applicator
• After 5 years, the Nova T380 insert should be removed or replaced.

Precautions:

• If you experience discomfort while wearing the IUD, contact your doctor
• Call your doctor immediately if you experience persistent lower abdominal pain, fever, or unusual bleeding

Warnings:

The IUD cannot be used

• during pregnancy
• if the patient suffers from recurrent or intrauterine inflammation
• 3 months after childbirth or miscarriage
• if she has cervical cancer or changes in the cells of her reproductive organs
• if she experiences abnormal vaginal bleeding (the copper contraceptive IUD may increase menstrual cramps and the amount of bleeding)
• due to abnormal uterine structure or deformation
• if the patient is allergic to copper or suffers from Wilson's disease
• Nova T380 is not intended for women who experience heavy or painful menstrual periods or who suffer from anemia, or for people taking medications that prevent blood clotting.
• Caution should be exercised when using the contraceptive IUD in women with congenital heart disease or congestive heart failure.
