Way of ussage:
The urine drug test is a competitive immunochromatographic test designed to investigate the presence of drugs in human urine samples. It is a chromatographic absorption device in which drugs, or their metabolites, in the sample bind competitively to a limited number of antibody-dye conjugates. When the absorbent end of the test device is inserted into the urine sample, the sample is absorbed into the device by capillary action, mixes with the antibody-dye conjugate, and migrates across the precoated membrane. When the level of a particular drug in the sample is zero, or when it is present in the sample at a level that is below the detection limit (detection sensitivity of the assay), the antibody-dye conjugate binds to the drug-protein conjugate, immobilized in the area test (T). This reaction produces a colored line indicating a negative result regardless of the intensity of the line. When the level of a particular drug in the sample is equal to or greater than the detection limit of the assay, the drug in the sample will bind to the antibody-dye conjugate, blocking the binding of the latter to the drug-protein conjugate, immobilized in the test area (T). Therefore, the colored line cannot appear in the test area (T), indicating a potential positive result. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will appear in the control area (C) when the test has been performed correctly, regardless of whether or not a colored line appears in the test area (T).
