What is Bio-Chrom?
Each Bio-Chrom tablet contains 100 micrograms of elemental chromium. The chromium used in the preparation of the Bio-Chrom tablet is organically bound, which means that it is bound to a yeast and natural amino acids (chromium yeast). Thus, the product has a very high bioavailability in the body, ensuring its absorption up to 10 times higher than other approved chromium sources.
Bio-Chrom contains a patented organic source of chromium called ChromoPrecise®, which is a chromium yeast specially formulated to give the product optimal bioavailability. This source of chromium is manufactured following the strictest control rules (the GMP standard that is usually used for the manufacture of medicines) to ensure and document the excellent quality of the product and its safety.
What is chromium?
Chromium is an essential mineral that contributes to the normal metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. Moreover, chromium supports the biological processes involved in maintaining normal blood glucose concentrations. Inorganic chromium usually has low bioavailability in the body. The effectiveness of a chromium supplement is given by the degree of its absorption in the body. From Glucose Tolerance Factor to chromodulin For many years it was thought that the essential element chromium was part of a substance called FTG (Glucose Tolerance Factor). In addition to chromium, FTG also included: niacin (a vitamin from the group of B vitamins) and the amino acids glycine, cysteine and glutamic acid. The FTG theory has only been partially supported, and the existence of a specific FTG molecule has never been demonstrated.
Recent studies have revealed the existence of a unique chromium-related molecule called chromodulin, which is slightly different from FTG but has similar characteristics.
So when we refer to cromodulin instead of FTG, we mean the same benefits. The body's chromium reserve is approximately 4-6 mg. With advancing age, the concentration of chromium in tissues can decrease significantly. Uncontrollable nibbling between meals and eating sweet foods can provide temporary relief due to the "sugar rush" that gives us immediate energy, but the effect quickly wears off, leaving us in the same state as before. In the long run, such cravings for sweet foods can negatively affect body weight.
With a product like Bio-Chrom we can help the body maintain its normal level of glucose in the blood and prevent the recurrence of these conditions. More types of chrome We usually associate the notion of chrome with chrome accessories in bathrooms or on motorcycles.
The chromium used to manufacture these objects (industrial chromium) is not part of human biochemistry. The human body needs chromium in the so-called trivalent form. Trivalent means that it is capable of forming three chemical bonds with other atoms (industrial chromium is hexavalent). Nutritional analyzes done in Scandinavia, Great Britain and America have shown that the average level of chromium ingested daily is about 30-40 µg. The EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) recommends that the daily intake of chromium be 40 µg, while the WHO (World Health Organization) considers that the daily intake of chromium up to the level of 250 µg is safe. Chromium sources Natural sources of chromium are foods such as: - crustaceans - nuts - raisins - meat - beans - black pepper
What is blood sugar?
Blood glucose is the term commonly used to refer to the level of glucose in the blood. Blood glucose is one of the body's sources of energy. Because it allows sugar (glucose) to enter cells, insulin is a hormone that plays a crucial role in metabolizing sugar.
Chromium contributes to this process by ensuring that insulin binds to insulin receptors in cell membranes. The normal blood sugar level is between 3 and 7 mmol/l (54-126 mg/dl).
