Description
The test reacts to the presence of:
- MDMA in human urine > 500 ng/ml over 4 days
- methamphetamine > 1000 ng/ml for 5 days
- benzodiazepine > 300 ng/ml for 7 days
- morphine > 300 ng/ml for 5 days
- 11-nor-∆-9-tetrahydro-cannabinol-9-carboxylic acid > 50 ng/ml 4 - 7 days
MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine) is an N-methyl analog of MDA (methylenedioxyamphetamine) with similar properties to mescaline (hallucinogen) and amphetamines (stimulants). From a pharmacological point of view, amphetamines belong to psychostimulants. After use, they lead to rapid physical and mental stimulation, sensations of extra potency, mental and physical performance. Physical manifestations of acute drug effects include restlessness, increased heart rate, dry mouth, and palpitations. Repeated exposure to amphetamines leads to states of complete dryness, lack of volitional thinking and action, lack of concentration, inappropriate behavior. Ecstasy is distributed in the form of tablets, gelatin capsules, sometimes in ampoules, puzzles. The effective analogue ranges from 50 mg to 180 mg. It is taken orally (in pill form), sometimes snorted. The effect occurs within 30 to 60 minutes. It peaks after 1.5 hours, the effect gradually declines in 6 to 10 hours.
Methamphetamine is a potent sympathomimetic used in human therapy. Its acute administration in higher dose leads to increased stimulation of the CNS and induces euphoria, alertness and a feeling of increased energy and strength. Overdose leads to anxiety, paranoia, psychotic behavior and cardiac arrhythmias. Psychotic behavior in overdose is difficult to distinguish from schizophrenia. 40% of ingested methamphetamine is excreted in the urine in unchanged form, the rest in the form of amphetamine and its oxidation and deamination derivatives.
Benzodiazepines are used in therapy as anxiolytics, anticonvulsants, muscle relaxants, sedatives and hypnotics. Their derivatives induce sleep, attenuate limbic, thalamic and hypothalamic circuits, sensory and autonomic emotional arousals. They are usually taken orally - then they are metabolized in the liver or intravenously. In chronic addiction, the brain and internal organs are affected, then gradually the tissues, muscles and fat.
Opiates such as heroin, morphine and codeine are obtained from opium resin, the source of which is unripe poppies. Heroin and codeine are rapidly metabolized in the body to morphine and excreted in the urine as morphine or morphine glucuronide.
Cannabinoids, mainly THC - tetrahydrocannabinol - are an active substance that is mainly contained in the tops and cones of the female cannabis plant - marijuana, and the sticky resin - hashish. THC is a hallucinogenic substance, it causes a state of relaxation, good mood, euphoria. Hemp metabolites are used in the treatment of acute glaucoma, nausea during chemotherapy. Higher doses cause CNS damage, loss of coordination, sudden memory loss, anxiety, paranoia, depression, hallucinations, increased heart rate. Marijuana is metabolized in the liver and excreted in the urine as 11-nor-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid and its glucuronide.
The test contains a test strip that is immersed in the collected urine sample for 6 seconds and the result is read in about 3-5 minutes.
