LabHome Calprotectin'Alert ^® is a rapid immunoassay for the detection of calprotectin in feces when its concentration exceeds 50 μg of calprotectin per gram of feces.

When is a stool calprotectin test performed?

Calprotectin testing is the first-line test if you suspect:

• inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD),
• Crohn's disease (CD),
• ulcerative colitis (UC),
• colon cancer.

The test for inflammatory bowel diseases allows you to distinguish them from irritable bowel syndrome, thanks to which you can avoid an invasive colonoscopy exam. The Calprotectin'Alert ^® calprotectin test is easy and quick to use - the result is obtained after only 10 minutes. A positive test result means that the sample contains calprotectin in a concentration greater than 50 μg/g faeces. If the test is positive, see your doctor.
