How does the electronic breast pump work?
The breast pump first works in a way that helps stimulate milk flow. You can then choose one of the suction modes according to the one that suits you best. The breast pump is easy to assemble and use, and all its parts that come into contact with breast milk can be washed in the dishwasher. Health professionals agree that breast milk is the best nutrition for babies in their first year of life, combined with solid foods after 6 months. Your breast milk is specially adapted to your baby's needs and contains antibodies that protect him from infections and allergies.
The breast pump helps you breastfeed for longer. You can express and store your milk, and your baby can get all the benefits even if you're not around and can't feed him yourself. The breast pump is compact and used discreetly, so you can take it anywhere with you. Thanks to this, you can express the milk when it suits you and thus you can keep enough breast milk. Relax and enjoy the comfort of suction. When you don't have to worry, you're in control, and you feel rested, you pump more milk faster.
Is the Philips AVENT electronic breast pump right for you?
It's perfect for moms who want to enjoy the speed and ease of pumping with an electric pump, or those looking for relief from common breastfeeding issues like cracked or cracked nipples. The Philips AVENT electronic breast pump is the first manual electric breast pump that is as efficient as an electric maternity breast pump and is also easy to carry. Thanks to the option of being powered by batteries or directly from the mains, you can vacuum worry-free and comfortably, wherever you are.
Using a breast pump: When to express milk?
If you are not having trouble breastfeeding, it is recommended (unless your doctor/lactation consultant advises you otherwise) that you wait until your milk production and breastfeeding schedule are established (usually at least 2 to 4 weeks postpartum ).
Exceptions:
- If you have trouble breastfeeding at first, pumping regularly can help improve and stabilize your milk supply.
- If you express milk for your baby in the hospital.
- If your breasts are tender (painful or swollen). You can express a small amount of milk before feeding or between feedings to ease the pain and make it easier for the baby to latch on.
- If you have sore or cracked nipples, you can express milk until they heal.
- If you are separated from your baby and want to resume breastfeeding after you return, you need to express milk regularly to stimulate milk production.
