selen-Loges 200 µg herbal 120 St
Description
selen-Loges® plant-based – natural antioxidant cell protection 3
selen-Loges® 200 μg plant-based contains natural selenium from a purely plant-based source. It is extracted from black mustard (Brassica nigra) and is an ideal alternative for anyone following a vegetarian diet. Unlike other plant-based foods, the mustard plant, as a member of the cruciferous family, is particularly well-equipped to absorb selenium from the soil and convert and accumulate it in organically bound selenium (e.g., selenoamino acids). 5,6 Because it comes in small, easy-to-swallow film-coated tablets, selen-Loges® 200 μg plant-based is also very suitable for people with swallowing difficulties.

The trace element selenium is involved in a multitude of metabolic reactions and plays a crucial role in eliminating cell-damaging compounds. As a component of the active site of selenoproteins, selenium is essential for the function of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase, among other things. It is one of the antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals. Furthermore, selenium supports the function of our immune system and thyroid gland and contributes to the maintenance of healthy hair and nails .
The body cannot produce selenium itself, so sufficient intake through food is necessary. The selenium content of plant and animal foods varies depending on the selenium content of the soil. In parts of Central and Northern Europe, the soils are rather low in selenium, so plant foods may contain only small amounts. 9 Foods rich in selenium include, for example, seafood, meat, organ meats, and Brazil nuts.
Available in 100 µg doses for insufficient selenium intake or special needs, and also in high doses with 200 µg selenium.
