Valerian grows in Europe, Asia and North America. It is very popular in Poland, it is common, but it can also be cultivated. Most often we find it in wet areas, near rivers, streams and wet meadows. Sometimes it also grows in dry areas. It blooms from June to August, and its flowers emit a pleasant, sweet smell. The raw materials of valerian include rhizomes and roots. They contain valuable ingredients, including valerenic acid. It is usually called valerian valerian.

Valerian, in both folk and conventional medicine, is used primarily as a sedative. It is used to relieve nervous excitement, nervousness, anxiety, difficulty falling asleep, hand tremors, and concentration problems. It is always useful when stress is the cause of irritability or fun.

Although valerian has become popular and eagerly used due to its calming effect, its other benefits cannot be overlooked. The plant has antispasmodic properties, so it will help with stomach problems and during menstruation, relieving abdominal pain.

Method of preparation: pour 1 teaspoon of herbs with a glass of hot water. Boil covered for 5-10 minutes.
