ABRA Glucose Test Strips are to be used with an ABRA meter to quantitatively measure glucose (sugar) in whole blood collected from the fingertip, hand, or forearm. The ABRA Blood Glucose Monitoring System is intended for non-professional users and should be used by one person only. ABRA test strips are for external use.

Each test strip has a test area that contains reactive chemicals. Applying a sample of blood to this area causes a chemical reaction and then creates an electrical current. The blood glucose concentration is calculated based on the electric current recorded by the glucometer, and the result is shown on the display. The test measures glucose levels between 20 mg/dL (1.1 mmol/L) and 600 mg/dL (33.3 mmol/L). The ABRA test strip is calibrated to display equivalent plasma glucose values, making it easy to compare with results obtained by laboratory methods.
