Composition:
The aerial part of the crab tail plant - Potentilla anserina L.
Active principles:
Tannin, bitter substances, mucilages, volatile oil, flavonoids, mineral salts.
Therapeutic Action:
It is astringent, promotes blood coagulation, has spasmolytic action, is indicated as an antispastic, prevents the formation of kidney stones, is useful in anemia, convalescence, arthritis, hypermenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, enterocolitis, gastric colic, diarrhea, renal calculus.
Recommendations:
Internal: diarrhea (including rebellious forms), gastro-intestinal colic, in hemorrhages (including metrorrhagia with irregular, prolonged periods), in uric lithiasis, arthritis.
Externally: it is recommended to treat gingival inflammation, leucorrhoea, skin ulcers.
Mode of administration:
Internally: decoction or infusion. The infusion is prepared from 1-2 teaspoons of the plant to 250 ml of hot water. Leave covered for 10 - 15 minutes, then filter. The decoction is prepared from 1-2 teaspoons of the plant to 250 ml of water. Boil for 5 minutes, leave covered for 15-20 minutes, then filter. Drink 2 teas a day. External: decoction in double concentration, for washes or compresses.
