Description
Poliflora honey, 500 g, Apicola Costache
What is honey?
- Honey is the sweet liquid, collected from flowers, prepared and stored by bees in honeycombs.
- With a fluid or viscous consistency, honey can have a stronger aroma and a color between light yellow and red, depending on the plants and flowers from which it is obtained.
The composition of honey
- Rich in sugars (fructose, glucose, maltose, sucrose), vitamins and minerals, honey is used today, in modern medicine, for its therapeutic value and regenerative effects on the human body.
- The composition of honey is: water, glucose, pollen, vitamins (the most important are those from the B complex and, in slightly smaller quantities, vitamins C, A, D and K), minerals (the most well-known being potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, to which extremely small amounts of selenium, chromium and iodine are added) enzymes from bees, various organic acids.
Therapeutic properties
- Honey - the fastest and most powerful natural energizer.
- The substances it contains are extremely easy to assimilate by the body, which receives through honey not only the calories it needs, but also the minerals, vitamins and enzymes.
- Honey - natural anti-infective.
- Honey is a powerful natural anti-infective that acts on the main systems and devices in the body, from the digestive tract and respiratory tract to the skin and mucous membranes.
- Honey - powerful digestive stimulant.
- This beehive product is also a strong stimulant of digestion and metabolism that favors intestinal transit and helps to promptly eliminate toxins from the body.
- Honey - maintains the endocrine balance.
- Thanks to the complex of vitamins, minerals and enzymes, honey helps to maintain the endocrine balance and regulates the activity of the main glands in the body that produce hormones.
How much honey should we consume?
- Children under one year are not given honey at all, as they are extremely sensitive to certain microorganisms that can develop in honey - that's right, in extremely rare cases - and that cause serious diseases (to which adults are immune).
- Children between 1 and 3 years old are given 2-4 teaspoons of honey per day.
- Children between 3 and 6 years old are given 4-6 teaspoons of honey per day.
- Children over six years old can consume up to 8 teaspoons of bee honey, teenagers up to 15 teaspoons of honey (equivalent to 70 grams), and adults - 20 teaspoons per day (equivalent to 100 g).
- In addition to the general effects of honey, there are also its particular properties, depending on its origin: • polyflora honey - from the point of view of therapeutic properties, polyflora honey represents the most complex type of honey whose therapeutic properties differ depending on the region of which is harvested.
Crystallization of honey
- The process of saccharification or crystallization of honey is a natural process and does not represent damage to the honey, on the contrary, it is a proof of the authenticity of the product.
- By its nature, honey contains water, glucose, vitamins and minerals produced by bees.
- Due to the natural characteristics they have, all types of honey in our country crystallize relatively quickly; the exception is acacia honey, which has a slow crystallization process.
- Crystallized honey has the same beneficial properties for the human body as liquid honey.
- For decrystallization, we can heat to a maximum of 40 degrees.
