Novartis

Novartis. We are rethinking medicine

Novartis is a multinational pharmaceutical company headquartered in Switzerland. As of 2020, it is the second largest manufacturer of medicines in Europe. The brand's history began in 1996 as a result of the merger of pharmaceutical giants Sandoz and Ciba-Geigy.

Initially, Novartis produced virtually the entire range of medicines, but during its operation, the company sold the rights to produce veterinary drugs and vaccines. Since 2018, the brand has focused its activities on the creation of drugs for the treatment of cancer, as well as research in the fields of neurology and ophthalmology.

Novartis entered the domestic market in 1996. Currently, the brand's products are available in all pharmacies in Europe and 140 other countries around the world. Domestic consumers are well acquainted with such medicines as:

  • Voltaren – a remedy for muscle and joint pain;
  • Otrivin – a remedy for rhinitis (vasoconstrictor);
  • Lamisil – an antifungal cream;
  • Uper – a remedy for chronic heart failure;
  • Sirdalud – a muscle relaxant.

The cost of Novartis brand drugs is above average, but this is entirely justified because the company produces original drugs with high efficacy.
