DulcoSoft® oral solution with a neutral flavor is a medical device indicated for the relief of constipation and stimulation of intestinal peristalsis.

The liquid formulation with macrogol 4000 is suitable for use in children and infants from 6 months of age, as well as in adults.

What is constipation and how to combat it:

• Constipation is defined as infrequent bowel movements (twice a week or less). Stools are hard, strained, and accompanied by a feeling of incomplete evacuation. This problem affects both adults and children. Constipation can be caused by, among other things, dietary errors
• The first step in eliminating constipation should be changing your habits by eating more fiber-rich foods, staying well hydrated, and being active daily, as exercise naturally supports proper intestinal peristalsis
• When changing daily habits isn't enough and constipation becomes chronic, it's worth using gentle products like the DulcoSoft® medical device.

The macrogol 4000 contained in the oral solution has the ability to bind water, softening fecal masses while increasing their volume, making defecation easier.

The product is available as a ready-to-use solution that can be mixed with any favorite beverage.

DulcoSoft®, in a convenient liquid form, provides gentle relief from constipation, improving the comfort of bowel movements, promoting regularity, and regulating bowel function.

Ingredients:

10 ml of DulcoSoft® solution contains

• Macrogol 4000 5 g
• Other ingredients: potassium sorbate, macrogol 400, citric acid, purified water.

How to use:

• Infants from 6 months to 1 year: 8 ml of solution daily (equivalent to 4 g of macrogol 4000)
• Children 2-3 years: 8-16 ml of solution daily (equivalent to 4-8 g of macrogol 4000)
• Children 4-7 years: 16-32 ml of solution daily (equivalent to 8-16 g of macrogol 4000)
• Adults and children over 8 years: 20-40 ml of solution daily (equivalent to 10-20 g of macrogol 4000)
• The age-appropriate dose of oral solution should be taken as a single dose in the morning. DulcoSoft® can be mixed with any beverage of your choice, such as a glass of water, juice, or tea (approximately 150 ml)
• Use in children under 8 years of age should be supervised by a physician
• Taking the dosage recommendations into account, the dose can be adjusted to your needs and taken daily or every other day
• The appropriate dose is the smallest volume of liquid that ensures regular and comfortable bowel movements (soft stools)
• The dose should be measured using the measuring cup included in the package
• The product usually begins to work after 1-3 days of use.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients
• Severe inflammatory bowel disease (such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease) or toxic megacolon
• Known or at risk of gastrointestinal perforation
• Paralytic ileus or suspected intestinal obstruction or symptomatic intestinal stenosis
• Abdominal pain syndromes of undetermined cause
• Do not use in infants under 6 months of age.

Warnings: 

• As with all laxatives, organic disease should be ruled out before starting treatment
• DulcoSoft® oral solution, 250 ml, should not be taken daily continuously for extended periods without investigating the cause of constipation
• Store below 25°C, out of the reach and sight of children
• Do not refrigerate
• Use within 6 weeks of opening the bottle
• DulcoSoft® Junior can be taken by pregnant and breastfeeding women, but only after consulting a doctor
• If you have any concerns before taking DulcoSoft® Junior, consult a doctor or pharmacist
• Do not take macrogol-containing medical devices continuously every day for an extended period without investigating the cause of constipation
• Seek medical advice if you experience persistent abdominal pain
• In the case of diarrhea, caution should be exercised in patients susceptible to fluid and electrolyte disturbances (e.g., elderly patients, those with impaired liver or kidney function, or patients taking diuretics) and electrolyte monitoring should be considered
• Allergic reactions (such as anaphylactic shock, anaphylactic reaction, angioedema, urticaria, rash, and hypersensitivity) may occur in patients taking products containing macrogol. If you experience any of these symptoms, discontinue use of DulcoSoft® immediately.
