Description

Erdomed is a powdered medicine for oral suspension containing the active ingredient erdosteine, which reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretions and facilitates expectoration. Erdomed is a medicinal product used as a supportive treatment for acute and chronic respiratory conditions associated with thick secretions, such as inflammation of the nose, sinuses, larynx, trachea, bronchi, or lungs.

Composition

The active substance of the drug is erdosteine ​​( Erdosteinum ).

1 ml of oral suspension contains 35 mg of erdosteine ​​( Erdosteinum ).

Excipients: Sucrose; Sodium benzoate; Sodium starch glycolate; Anhydrous citric acid; Sucralose; 1201973 - Mask CLD nat. pwd flavor [composition: vanillin, natural flavorings, sodium starch octenylsuccinate, vegetable oil (coconut), silicon dioxide, alpha-tocopherol]; 1204571 – 1115061 blood orange pwd flavor [composition: orange oil, maltodextrin (corn), gum arabic, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), flavorings, natural flavorings].

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The dosage is determined by the doctor individually for each patient.

The drug is in the form of a suspension for oral use.

Preparing the suspension: To prepare the suspension, add room temperature water to the well marked on the bottle. Shake well until a thin, cloudy suspension is obtained. If necessary, add water to the well marked on the bottle and shake again. This produces 100 ml of the prepared suspension. Store the prepared suspension in the refrigerator, i.e., at a temperature between 2°C and 8°C, for no longer than 15 days. Always shake before use, as the suspension may separate during refrigeration.

Do not use Erdomed before bedtime.

Action

Erdomed contains erdosteine. It reduces the viscosity of mucus in the respiratory tract and facilitates expectoration.

Indications

Erdomed is used in the supportive treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, bronchi and lungs accompanied by abnormal secretion and transport of mucous secretions.

Erdomed is also used in the preventive treatment of seasonal exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.

Contraindications

Contraindications to use include allergy to the active substance or any of the other ingredients, or substances containing free SH groups (e.g., acetylcysteine). Do not use the drug in patients with hepatic impairment, renal failure, or homocystinuria.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Common side effects (affecting 1 to 10 users in 100): stomach discomfort (epigastric pain), nausea, headache.

Warnings and precautions

If symptoms of hypersensitivity occur, such as rash or hives, discontinue use of the drug.

The drug should be used with caution in people with ciliary clearance disorders or a weakened cough reflex.

Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children, at a temperature below 25˚C.

Use of other medications

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking, have recently taken or might take, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Erdomed may interact with antitussive drugs, weakening the cough reflex and making it difficult to expectorate thin secretions.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Erdomed should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Use of the drug in children and adolescents

Do not use the medicine in children under 12 years of age.
